Welcome to Woodhall, a country retreat in the Wye Valley offering a warm and cosy self-contained Lodge for two adults and an exclusive campsite for Motorhomes in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, one mile from the Monmouthshire village of Trellech. |
The Lodge and Field nestle at the foot of Nine Wells Wood and look out onto our woodland garden and sheep grazing the meadow. Woodhall is situated in the Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is opposite Cleddon Bog, a designated Area of Special Scientific Interest. You are surrounded by nature and its peace and tranquillity. We have resident deer, rabbits, squirrels, owls, woodpeckers and many songbirds and an abundance of butterflies. A nature lovers and photographers paradise. The village of Trellech with its church and pub, is one mile away, Llanishen with its garage and village store is 3 miles, Tintern is 4 miles, Monmouth 7 miles to the north and Chepstow 9 miles to the south. The villages of Raglan and Usk are 10 and 12 miles respectively with Ross on Wye 17 miles to the north. All are easily accessible; the journeys offering wonderful views of the surrounding Monmouthshire countryside at every twist and turn. There are exceptional walks in the immediate area, several of which can be accessed directly from the Lodge or Field. We are close to Beacon Hill, Trellech Common, Wet Meadow Wood plus the more spectacular Kymin Round House and Devil's Pulpit. The Wye Valley Way and Symmonds Yat are a little further afield but worth a visit. The Angidy Trail runs from Tintern leading up to the excavated old Ironworks in a circular five-mile walk showcasing the magnificent countryside. Satnav will find the postcode NP25 4PT easily, as does What3Words. If travelling from Monmouth take the B4293 to Trellech and then follow the instructions below from Catbrook Road. If travelling from Chepstow, you will travel through the villages of Devauden and Llanishen. After travelling through Llanishen ignore the instruction to Parkhouse on your right and stay on the B4293. Once you arrive in Trellech turn right into Catbrook Road at the junction on the bend and go up this road for exactly one mile until you reach a small crossroads. Woodhall is at 10 o'clock and the Lodge is at the top of the drive on the left. When travelling with a Motorhome it is imperative to access the Woodhall Field campsite only from the B4293 in Trellech as the road from Tintern is very narrow with overhanging low branches. At the crossroads turn left and Woodhall Field is 50 metres on the right. |
